In this type of work (50x50cm) I combine different shades of colors together to create emotion. My spirit of exploration, based on the stories of legends and popular myths, help me to create ideas in any of my works. The inspiration for my mosaics comes from the different objects and emotions experienced in the places I have visited, where I have collected ideas that lead me to create my painted mosaics.

In my series of Painted Mosaics, this one was one of the first I created. We all have probably seen the picture from Yin & Yang before, with or without paying attention to it. In ancient Chinese philosophy, yin & yang, 'dark / light', 'negative / positive' is a Chinese philosophical concept that describes how obviously opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.

Now to me it is seen as some kind of balance too. Sort of speak, what you in your personal life could be missing, once you find your other half, he or she might be the one to complete it. The title for this painting means just that what it says. We often look at things and most of the times prepare our judgements at the same time in our minds, than after we speak it out or we don't, depending the situation. That's why I came up with this title, because that to me itself is a balance we all need to figure out... Do we say those things at certain times? Realizing that with some things we say we hurt people, freedom of opinion comes at first, always, but we sometimes need to know our places and shut up if time tells us to. The hand doesn't touch the figure, because it is our minds I am speaking of with this painting, and our minds sometimes seems untouchable. Mind, is an untouchable thing, that's why the space is in between the yin yang and hand.

The colors depicted for the painted mosaics are in this case red, mint green and blue. Now red to me reflects life & love, the mint green color (which is my favorite color) nature (earth & fire) and the blue for me reflects sky & water.
Mosaics are often used as floor and wall decoration, and were particularly popular in the ancient Roman world. Mosaics have a long history, starting in Mesopotamia in the 3rd millennium BC. Pebble mosaics were made in Tiryns in Mycenean Greece; mosaics with patterns and pictures became widespread in classical times, both in ancient Greece and ancient Rome.

Early Christian basilicas from the 4th century onwards were decorated with wall and ceiling mosaics. I started painting mosaics in particular colors with a meaning to me personally. Wherever I go, whenever I see any art type of ceramics, I love it because it shares a feeling of being on holiday. Now I believe the explanations I gave for the colors I used are just the three meanings that life is about; life & love, nature (earth & fire) and sky & water. Themes used in many artistic forms throughout history. Strangely I always feel somehow connected to the Mya's... If you ask me why it might be because my favorite number is 21 and someone once told me that the number was an important one for the Mya's. Now it's even said that mosaics in the Maya civilization, the art form was developed independently...

En este tipo de trabajo (50x50cm) combino diferentes tonos de colores para crear emoción. Mi espíritu de exploración, basado en historias de leyendas y mitos populares, me ayuda a crear ideas en cualquiera de mis obras. La inspiración para mis mosaicos proviene de los diferentes objetos y emociones vividas en los lugares que he visitado, donde he recopilado ideas que me llevan a crear mis mosaicos pintados.

En mi serie de Mosaicos Pintados, este fue uno de los primeros que creé. Probablemente todos hayamos visto alguna vez la imagen del Yin y el Yang, prestándole o no atención. En la antigua filosofía china, yin y yang, 'oscuridad/luz', 'negativo/positivo' es un concepto filosófico chino que describe cómo fuerzas obviamente opuestas o contrarias pueden en realidad ser complementarias, interconectadas e interdependientes en el mundo natural, y cómo pueden surgir entre sí a medida que se interrelacionan entre sí. Ahora para mí también se ve como una especie de equilibrio. Por así decirlo, lo que te podría faltar en tu vida personal, una vez que encuentres a tu otra mitad, él o ella podría ser quien lo complete. El título de esta pintura significa precisamente eso lo que dice. A menudo miramos las cosas y la mayoría de las veces preparamos nuestros juicios al mismo tiempo en nuestra mente, que después de decirlo o no, dependiendo de la situación. Por eso se me ocurrió este título, porque para mí eso es un equilibrio que todos debemos encontrar... ¿Decimos esas cosas en determinados momentos? Al darnos cuenta de que con algunas cosas que decimos lastimamos a las personas, la libertad de opinión viene al principio, siempre, pero a veces necesitamos saber dónde estamos y callarnos si el tiempo nos lo dice. La mano no toca la figura, porque en este cuadro hablo de nuestra mente, y nuestra mente a veces parece intocable. La mente es algo intocable, por eso el espacio está entre el yin yang y la mano. Los colores representados en los mosaicos pintados son en este caso rojo, verde menta y azul. Ahora el rojo para mí refleja vida y amor, el color verde menta (que es mi color favorito) la naturaleza (tierra y fuego) y el azul para mí refleja cielo y agua.
Los mosaicos se utilizan a menudo como decoración de suelos y paredes, y fueron especialmente populares en el antiguo mundo romano. Los mosaicos tienen una larga historia, comenzando en Mesopotamia en el tercer milenio antes de Cristo. Los mosaicos de guijarros se hicieron en Tirinto, en la Grecia micénica; Los mosaicos con patrones e imágenes se generalizaron en la época clásica, tanto en la antigua Grecia como en la antigua Roma.

Las basílicas paleocristianas a partir del siglo IV estaban decoradas con mosaicos en las paredes y el techo. Comencé a pintar mosaicos en colores particulares que tenían un significado para mí personalmente. Dondequiera que vaya, cada vez que veo algún tipo de cerámica artística, me encanta porque comparte la sensación de estar de vacaciones.
